Cover Page Analysis in Depth Analysis

Good morning blog, we are back with a new blog this week!

In this weeks blogpost we will be going over an example of a cover page from a fashion magazine. In my previous blogs this was included and done with one of the cover pages, but in this weeks blog we will be debriefing it and going in great depth and detail with the cover page and what it involves.

On the top is the breakdown of the cover page for the fashion magazine we see above

To begin with the first thing and main focus on all or most magazines is known as the masthead. The masthead is like the title or big writing on the cover page of a magazine. In this article particularly the mast head is in white and the models head is in front of the mast head. In other magazine the masthead will be in front of the models head or vise versa. Now next the issue and date of the article will normally be on the bottom right of the magazine as that is where the page number almost always goes in a piece of writing. On to the next thing which is almost always the other main thing in a magazines cover page which is the model/ artist. The one in this cover page is known as Bella Hadid, which is known as a famous artist who models for different companies. She is widely known, and Vogue used her as the cover page model for this magazine in specific. The leading story here in this cover page only really includes a section that states 'Being Bella' based off of the supermodel. Now on to the design of the cover page. The cover page consists of a combination of both blues and whites. Its a very simple and nice combination of colors and the magazines front page is very well organized. The lettering on the magazine is in white, while the background of the magazine is a blue wall and the model sitting on a brown wooden floor. This adds a bright and colorful pop. Now the model is dressed in a white ruffled shirt with light clue jeans with matches the overall color scheme that is being used all around in the magazine. In this cover page you can also see that the model is sitting on the floor with her legs crossed and her full body is captured in the shot.In this magazine theres really barely any writing included. In the top to the left side theres a section that states 'Being Bella' which is based on the model. On the bottom in the middle there are three subheadings listed in the bottom of the magazine, with little to no context. The genre used in the magazine was already given which is known as fashion. This is a fashion magazine and they used a famous supermodel to model for their fashion magazine.

This sums up the end of the the blog and the in depth explanation on what a cover page includes, stay tuned for the next blogs that are to come up.
